This is a large old in with lots of space for dining and an old pub feel, although not a cosy one. The staff are friendly and service was quick. We tried the carvery which was ok but noting special, the veg was a bit over done and the food was over seasoned.
Very disappointed with group Xmas meal. Food served lukewarm, stuffing cold and gravy extremely salty. ( other half didn't want me to complain)!
We spent 4 nights in the apartments. Nicely furnished and they had the basic facilities and en suites. The only issue was that they are located at the back of some shops and during the night or mornings the staff would be loudly rattling cages around. If you can get past that though it's a very nice place to stay. Also the food was good and well presented.
This review is purely for the bar, as not stayed here. During the day the general feel is everything is a bit tired however before that had been after dark and never noticed! Top tip there! Nice place, nice atmosphere.
We had the great pleasure of having our wedding reception here this weekend 24/8/18. And it was amazing. Nicky and Ben helped with everything upTo the day and then Crystal and the staff on the bar were amazing too. They couldnt have helped or been more accommodating! The food was amazing from the starters to the main course of 2 meat roast dinners. Filling and always tasting delicious. Amazing amount of food for the value! The oak room in which we used for the wedding was perfect size of what we needed. Very wide selection of alcohol behind the bar. We stayed the night in the bridal suite which was massive! Comfy and clean sheets was perfect for the few hours sleep we had! The team downstairs were adhering to moving the times of breakfast for the amount of guests who had stayed over that night! We have felt welcome and not a bother to the team at the old bull! Very polite staff and people!!
